Om-Tat-Sat‘Daata’ is in my remembrance!

Some time ago, we discussed what ‘Brahm’ is. Can it be felt? What is its significance? Can it be found? Can it be realized?

Probably ‘not’ for many people.

When we grasp the reality of things and the facts, we realize that we are all part of the same essence- the ‘Brahm’. This entire creation, this vast universe, is all an expression of the same ‘Brahm’.

How can you feel yourself as an individual, a separate entity?

What is that power? What is that energy? What is that very existence that is flowing in you? You name it, whatever you want. But isn’t this energy? Through whose energy is this energy flowing in you? Through which source is this flowing in you?

For a moment. Just forget the energy I am talking about that is flowing in you.

This is a canal you can see that is flowing. By whose energy is this water flowing? Why is it flowing? Where does it have to go?

What will it answer if I ask a drop of water in it who you are? It will say that I am a canal. Of course, it is a canal. Without drops of water,  a canal cannot be called a canal.

…And what if that drop says that I am a drop of water? Then, it is not the fault of the canal, isn’t it?

This is the reality. This is the truth. The canal’s energy, power, and potential can not be in a single drop. When in a canal, seeing yourself as a drop is like losing the power, like losing the potential that exists in you, which otherwise is all yours when you see yourself as a canal, not just a drop of water. Seeing yourself as an individual entity, seeing yourself as a drop and not as a canal, is nothing but discarding the very truth. It is like discarding your very existence, to which you belong. All we need to discover is our position of existence, and our true potential will follow us. That potential is already there. However, we need to discover our own ‘original constitutional position’ in this ‘Brahmand’ universe and realize its true nature and potential.

We all, me, you and you, we all have a unique position in the ‘Brahmand’ in the form of our relationship with ‘Supreme Power’, with that ‘Supreme Energy’, with the ‘Daata’. We all have an energy thread connecting us with the ‘Parmatma’, ‘Ishwar’, ‘Daata’, ‘Om’, ‘Omkar’, ‘God’, ‘Allah’, ‘Khuda’ etc. There is an eternal relationship we have with the ‘Daata’. And that tie, that string, that relationship is so true; that tie, that string, that relationship is so strong that it will not let you part from it, even if you want to.

But we must recognise that connection’s nature—our relationship with the divine Supreme Energy. What is our relationship with the ‘Daata’? Who are we? What are we for? Why are we born on this earth?

There must be some reason, as nothing happens without a reason.

To understand that string, that form, that connection of ours with the ‘Supreme Soul’, that constant togetherness of ours in life with the ‘Bestower’, we need to know our own constitutional position, our true and original position in the universe, in terms of our eternal relationship with the ‘Supreme Being’.  And, to recognize that relationship, to know that form, is called knowing your own original ‘Swarup’ – your own original spiritual constitutional position. This realization of our true self, this ‘Swarup-Siddhi’, is not just a goal but a journey of personal growth and spiritual development.

We need self-realization. It is a philosophical concept and a crucial step in our spiritual journey. We have to recognize our true nature and identity. We have to recognize our relationship with the ‘Daata’, with the ‘Giver’, with the ‘Bestower’, with the ‘Om’, with the ‘Omkar’, with the ‘Allah’, with the ‘God’—whatever you name it, it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that we understand and realize it.

Energy is one; power is one. God is one.

People can address me by different names. My mother will call me by ‘my name’, my sisters call me ‘brother’, my friends call me ‘friend’, my son call me ‘father’, and others may address me by calling me ‘Param Dwij’. So, does that make me several different individuals? Or am I still only one individual? Just as I am one person with different roles and relationships, we are all part of the same universal energy, the same ‘Supreme Soul ‘. We are all interconnected, part of the same whole.

My form is ‘one’. I am the same person. Though my personality can appear in different forms – with some special devotional feelings towards my mother, with some respectful feelings towards my father, with some loving feelings towards my son, with some compassionate feelings towards my friends, with some feelings of that ‘one-ness’ with those who see me as a fellow ‘Dwij’, but that doesn’t make me several different individuals. My nature and individuality as one person cannot be changed or separated into several different units.

Similarly, anyone cannot separate the ‘Supreme Soul’, the ‘Daata’, the ‘Allah’, the Param-Atma’, and the ‘God’into different identities or units, as He is only ‘One’.

Whatever form you have, try to realize it and try to experience your original position, which is your own constitutional position in this universe. Try to experience that form. Try to realize the perfection of your own constitutional position. Know your original nature and understand your true relationship with the ‘Daata’. And, when you know that ‘Swarup-Siddhi‘ – towards that ‘Swarup’ of yours, which is your true relationship with the ‘Supreme Consciousness’, you will feel accomplished, and it will help you progress towards your life’s sole and ultimate goal of ‘Enlightenment’ – ‘Moksh’.

You can make one relation with the ‘Daata’, you can make two, or ten or several relationships with the ‘Daata’. ‘Meera Bai’ loved Him as a true lover. Some others completely surrendered themselves to Him out of devotion by even killing, destroying, donating or damaging their body parts. Some others sacrificed all worldly belongings to realize Him. Some even deliberately rejected Him due to their own ignorance. It doesn’t matter to Him as He is far away from the feelings of possession and non-possession, enjoyment and non-enjoyment, happiness and sadness, as all belongs to Him. Your relationship with the ‘Daata’, your own ‘Swarup’, is vital to your progress in your spiritual journey.

You may ask that what is my relationship with the ‘Daata’?

There are many relations I have with Him. But which is the strongest relationship, the strongest connection I have with the ‘Daata’?

He is my friend because He is always with me. I am His lover; he is my Love because I am always immersed in Him. And He is my Mother. Also, He is my Father too. But, when I realize my ‘Swarup-Siddhi‘, when I discover my ‘Swarup’, when I recognize my true relationship with Him, I have always experienced that I recognise my strongest relationship with the ‘Daata’ as the Father and the Son. The ‘Daata’ is my Father, and I am His son.

As his true son, I have only one goal. As a son, I have only one duty, and that duty is to cooperate with and make my best possible contributions to my Father’s business. As a son, my duty is to protect and help grow my Father’s business.

And my Father’s business is the whole ‘Brahmand’, this whole universe. It is my duty to contribute positively to His creation, in whichever way possible, to the best of my skills and abilities.

You may ask me why I do not realize my relationship with Him as the son and the Mother, and why as the son and the Father only? Why not the mother’s relationship with the ‘Daata’?

He is my Mother, too. But I like his relationship with me as a Father—my ‘Supreme Father’. This is my realisation of my original form, my personal constitutional position in this ‘Brahmand’, in this universe. This is my true connection with Him, as I have experienced and realized. This is my real relationship with the ‘Daata’. This is my original form, this is my accomplished realisation—my ‘Swarup-Sidhi‘.

But He is my Mother too. Is the father not a mother? The father is also a mother. What is the difference between the mother and the father? A mother loves, and the father ‘cares’. Father scolds the son. Father disciplines a son. Father punishes the son. Because he loves, without worrying about the momentary pain he may be causing, to help the son realize his full potential, and that too by sacrificing the attachment and glamour that the son may lose for him, by sacrificing attraction, affection and infatuation the son may lose for the father. Mother also loves. But a mother’s love may not be as great as a father’s, may not be that big, and may not be that selfless without even a trace of infatuation. Or, you may call it even greater than father’s love. It may be so big that it may even miss the ‘care’. But the father’s love does not deviate from the son’s ‘care’, ‘attention’, ‘protection’ and ‘progress’ – no matter what.

His form and existence seem like a ‘Fatherly’ figure in the state of my ‘Supreme Father’. I feel His form, the form of my ‘Daata’, as my ‘Father’ and my relationship with Him as a real son and the Father. I realize this as my ‘Swarup-Siddhi‘.

Lots of wishes for realizing your own original ‘constitutional position’ – your own ‘Swarup-Siddhi‘.

Om Tat Sat!

…Param Dwij
